Carver Pump is a leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps in Naval and Industrial markets. We seek qualified candidates to fill the following position(s) in a dynamic high mix/low volume, lean manufacturing environment:

 

Production Coordinator

Summary

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials according to production schedule.  Duties include reviewing and distributing production work.  Coordination of production to meet shipment schedules.  Conferring with group leads and supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.

Tasks

  • Work with production organization to understand and meet production schedules
  • Develop daily labor allocations and overtime plans to meet production schedules
  • Meet with Contract Management, Marketing and Management on schedule/order status and provide updates on necessary reschedules on a timely basis

 

  • Coordinate execution of production schedule with GL’s in machining cells, assembly, test lab through paint and final processes (UPS/Crate)

 

  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, and distribution of supplies and parts in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules

 

  • Assist Plant Manager in improvement efforts to meet QCD goals
  • Develop and execute recovery plans for emergent needs
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and five years related experience.  Other equivalent education and experience will be considered

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a PC based ERP system
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of production planning principles
  • Strong analytical ability to gather and interpret information
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in a machine shop environment

 

 

Inspector Apprentice

 

Summary

The Inspector Apprentice is responsible for the inspection of parts and assemblies per plant specifications in an accurate and timely manner utilizing various inspection equipment and processes

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Set up and operate inspection equipment including but not limited to: gages, fixtures, tools and computer controlled measurement equipment as well as maintaining calibration of such equipment
  • Maintenance and repair of inspection equipment
  • Meet with various departments to determine disposition requirements for discrepant materials
  • Submit accurate reports and/or documentation for inspection related requirements
  • Conduct occasional audits of in-process inspected parts to verify acceptance
  • Maintaining neat and organized work area
  • Follow ISO standards and procedures to assist in continuous improvement of operations
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualification

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

§         Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform geometric, algebraic and trigometric calculations

§         Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and routings

 

 


 

CNC MACHINIST INTERN

The successful candidate will be either pursuing a degree/certificate in CNC machining or has the desire to take courses and receive on the job training in machining.  The ideal candidate will have excellent math skills, a strong work ethic and effective communication skills.

 

Starting pay for the intern position is $12.23/hr and progresses as classes and training are completed.

 


Network Administrator

 

The successful candidate will have at a minimum of a BS in computer science or related field and at least 2-3 years experience in a similar position.

 

Position Summary

 

Monitor and support the operation of the computer network including software, servers, switches, routers, hubs, modems and firewall. Support and maintain equipment in the computer laboratory.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

§         Monitor and maintain network hardware including servers, switches, routers, hubs, modems, firewall and wiring to ensure efficiency and reliability.

§         Monitor and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems including installation and testing of upgrades as needed.

§         Monitor and maintain Microsoft network software including installation and testing of upgrades as needed.

§         Resolve and/or prevent conflicts between network software to ensure reliability and efficiency.

§         Maintain appropriate levels of network security through establishment, maintenance and monitoring of user and passwords for all networked servers.

§         Monitor the ups units for all network hardware components, taking appropriate action to ensure hardware safety as needed.

§         Maintain and support the PC computers, operating systems and end-user software products.  Software Platforms includes the MS Windows XP, Vista and 7.

§         Establish and maintain beneficial relationships with the vendors and contractors of the company’s network hardware and software products.

§         Anticipate organization needs and recommend appropriate changes to the network hardware and software to accommodate them.

§         Document all procedures in sufficient detail to enable technical support staff to perform essential duties in the Network Administrator’s absence.

§         Manage and train users in share point services.

§         Train technical support staff to perform essential duties in the Network Administrator’s absence.

§         Work effectively with others in a team environment.

§         Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Skills

§         Certified Network Engineer or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer preferred.

§         Experience managing Microsoft Network.

§         Knowledge of company systems and interaction of data for systems.

§         Demonstrated use of advanced computer operations and software packages.

§         Knowledge of ISO procedures.

§         Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

 

 


 

Database Developer/Programmer

The successful candidate will have at a minimum of a BA in computer science coupled with on the job experience.  A strong background with Microsoft SQL, Foxpro and Visual Basic is preferred.

The Database Developer/Programmer will be responsible for:

  • Correct errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.
  • Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.
  • Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program.
  • Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment.
  • Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.
  • Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
  • Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
  • Write or contribute to instructions or manuals to guide end users.
  • Investigate whether networks, workstations, the central processing unit of the system, or peripheral equipment are responding to a program's instructions.
  • Prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language.
