Position Summary
Since 1938, industry has relied on Carver Pump to supply custom-engineered pumps to maximize efficiency and service life, while minimizing costly downtime. We design and build a broad array of pumps for industries ranging from oil production to power generation. These are exciting times as we expand our product lines and strengthen our position in these and many other markets.
Provide assistance to Regional Managers, Distributors, OEMs, Sales Reps and end-user accounts from pre-order to shipment. Prepare quotations for pumps, aftermarket parts, and overhauls. Respond to customers’ technical inquiries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review specifications and sales inquiries to determine customer requirements.
- Identify products that meet those requirements and prepare quotations.
- Develop cost estimates for proposed products
- Negotiate special pricing and deliveries.
- Maintain positive relations with distributors, OEMs and end-users.
- Provide technical and non-technical support to customers.
- Expedite orders. Diagnose and resolve problems as they arise.
- Train channel partners on pumps and their applications.
- Assist Sales and Marketing team with projects, as needed.
- Assist with the creation and management of department information and databases.
- Contribute to our mission of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Follow standard work procedures/instructions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings.
- Multi-task, manage simultaneous projects and ensure deadlines are met.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of assembly and performance of centrifugal pumps.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and Sharepoint
- Understanding of financial concepts relating to cost, price, and profit
Background Requisites:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in technical field preferred.
- Must be a United States Citizen.
Relationships:
- Reports to Sales Manager
- This position has no direct reports
Physical/Environmental Conditions:
- This is not a remote position. Candidate will be located onsite for daily in-person collaboration.
- Indoor office and test lab/shop environment.
- Light physical daily activity with occasional moderate activity related to lab/shop areas.
- Occasional travel to meet with distributors or customers, as needed.
Successful completion of a job-specific post-offer/pre-employment criminal background check, drug screen and physical required.
