Position Summary

Purpose:  

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials in alignment with the production schedule.  Responsibilities include reviewing, assigning, and distributing production tasks, as well as ensuring production activities are aligned with shipment deadlines.  Collaborate with Final Processes Manager, Machine Shop Manager, and Cell Leaders to monitor inventory levels, track progress of work, and assess projected completion timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with production organization to understand and meet production schedules
  • Develop daily labor allocations and overtime plans to meet production schedules
  • Meet with Contract Management, Marketing and Management teams to discuss schedule and order status, providing proactive updates on any required rescheduling
  • Coordinate execution of production schedule with leadership team and cell leaders in machining cells, assembly, test lab through paint and final processes
  • Monitor and expedite materials movement to prevent delays and keep production schedules on track.
  • Assist Final Processes and Machine Shop Managers in identifying and executing improvement efforts to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals and expectations
  • Create and implement recovery plans to address urgent and unforeseen needs
  • All other duties as assigned

 Essential Skills:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Extensive experience with ERP system
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of production planning principles
  • Strong analytical skills for gathering and interpreting information
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in a machine shop environment with strong shop floor presence is preferred

Background Requisites:

Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and five years related experience.  Other equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Relationships:

Reports to Operations Manager

This position has no direct reports

This position will work closely with the Production, Scheduling, Procurement, Engineering, Contracts Management, Marketing and Management teams.

Physical/Environmental Conditions:

Indoor shop/office environment

Physical Abilities:

Moderate physical daily activity related to lab / shop areas and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Successful completion of a post-offer/pre-employment background check and drug screen/physical required.
