A leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps in Naval and Industrial markets has a Quality Inspection position available. The pay range for the position is $28.36-31.80/hr plus monthly bonus and annual profit sharing. Candidates must be available to work 2nd shift or 3rd shift following training on 1st shift.
Position Summary
The Inspector position requires knowledge of general inspection fundamentals, familiarity with machine shop measuring equipment, the ability to perform non-destructive testing and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate inspection equipment including gages, fixtures, tools and computer-controlled measurement equipment.
- Perform Level II Non-Destructive Tests.
- Perform Receiving, Part, Assembly and Final Processes Inspections
- Manage inspection equipment and calibration system.
- Prepare accurate reports and documentation for inspections performed
- Conduct occasional customers/government witness inspections of in-process parts and pumps to verify acceptance.
- Conduct occasional Internal Audits to verify ISO Procedures and Work Instruction are being followed throughout the company.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds such as moving parts from material storage and moving parts in and out of work area.
- Maintain neat and organized work area.
- Follow ISO standards, procedures and work instructions.
- To be eligible for consideration, individuals must have a strong quality record and a proven track record of consistently following work instructions.
The work area must be maintained in a clean and organized manner. The Quality Inspector must follow all established shop, ISO 9001, and safety procedures.
Education/Work Experience
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years’ experience.
Physical/Environmental Conditions
Indoor machine shop, office, and outdoor environment conditions.
Physical Abilities:
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily technical nature.
- Position requires the individual to be on their feet standing, walking and carrying items 2/3 of the time.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 50lbs.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Successful completion of a post-offer/pre-employment background check and drug screen/physical required.
