Many modern commercial air conditioning systems use water as the main chilling element to achieve significant energy savings. A mixture of glycol coolant and water circulate from a main reservoir through cooling coils located in air handlers throughout the building. Warm air is drawn into the air handlers, over the cooling coils, and returned back to the room as cool air. Chilled water air conditioning systems allow for individual room temperature control, a major benefit to multi-tenant spaces including apartment buildings, hotels, hospitals, and office buildings.
