Gray water pumps circulate and dispose of a marine vessel’s gently used wastewater. Known as gently used water, gray water refers to any non-latrine wastewater from kitchens, bathroom sinks, showers, and washing machines. Gray water is no longer fresh and has come in contact with food particles, dirt, oils, and cleaning aides. Since gray water has not come in contact with human byproducts, it can be recycled and reused under certain conditions. Alternatively, gray water can be filtered to remove soaps, shampoos, body oils or creams, and pumped overboard instead of onboard recirculation.
